THE ROUNDWOOD TIMBER FRAMING CO. is a specialist carpentry and building firm producing jointed timber frame buildings using round poles of durable timber species from well managed woodlands. The company is the building arm of woodsman and eco-builder Ben Law, whose ‘Woodland House’ brought roundwood timber framing into the public eye when it was shown on Channel 4‘s ‘Grand Designs’

- Consultancy and support on ecological self build construction in the uk
- Sourcing, selection and grading of suitable timber from your wood or a well managed wood close to the building site
- Construction from felled tree to finished frame using specialist roundwood jointing techniques secured with oak pegs
- Locally sourced roofing shingles, cladding and flooring
- Non load bearing straw bale construction
- Breathable plasters in lime and earth
- Natural insulation in straw, flax, sheep’s wool, hemp and wood fibre
- Renewable energy options
TRAINING
THE ROUNDWOOD TIMBER FRAMING CO. is dedicated to the education of carpenters in roundwood timber framing and aims that every build involves an educational element and therefore encourages clients to accept a training element within any contracted build.
